At St Ursula’s College, our motto is “Serviam” – I will serve – and we encourage all girls to live this out in their everyday lives. There are numerous cultural and service groups to which the girls can belong. Service Options encourage students to develop an appreciation for supporting service organisations in the community.
Homework Club
Here at St Ursula’s, we have teamed up with Lifeline to participate in Homework Club in which students engage with and teach underprivileged children at their Wilsonton Heights centre focussing on basic numeracy and literacy skills, as well as participating in fun afterschool games.
Pink Ladies
Pink Ladies is a group of young women who are passionate about spreading awareness and raising money for breast cancer awareness foundations. Our aim is to educate younger women about the impacts of this issue and offer comfort to those experiencing breast cancer.
Ursie’s Insider
Ursie's Insider is the College student-run newspaper. Each Term, one to two editions are produced, edited, and designed by approximately twenty girls involved in Ursie's Insider. This service group is special as it allows each member to explore their interests, passions and use their talents, whether through writing articles, taking photographs, or assisting with the layout of each edition.
Ursies for Change
Ursies for Change is a service group dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability and contributing to positive change in local and global issues. We aim to create lasting positive change individually and within the College community around matters that are important to us.
Rising Daughters
Rising Daughters works hand in hand to assist the many men and women, and their families, who have or are currently serving to protect our country. We aim to help members build resilience, create, and expand, meaningful connections with our community by partaking in community outreach events and raising funds for both local and worldwide foundations.
Our Country Heart
Our Country Heart is run by the boarding students to raise money for a College-based outreach program to support the vulnerable, elderly and isolated in our local community. We are passionate about creating community, within and beyond Brescia House.
Care for Cambodia
Care for Cambodia raises money for Grace House, an Ursuline School in Cambodia, through fundraising events. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to access an education and love supporting our fellow Ursulines across the globe.
Interact
Interact, as an extension of Rotary, is a global network of school-based service groups. At St Ursula's College, the Interact service group strives to inspire youth leadership and proactive community engagement through fundraising and raising awareness about global concerns.
Protea Place
Protea Place is a local women’s support centre that works with local women. The foundation for this centre is dignity, strength and compassion. This is so important as they work with women who are struggling with homelessness, domestic violence, or doing it tough. This Service Group will help fundraise and advocate for this organisation.
Modified Rugby
Working in conjunction with GingerCloud foundation, our Modified Rugby Service Group work with children who normally don’t have to opportunity to play sport due to Autism or another learning or perceptual disability. Our students act as player mentors and assist children on the field to ensure they have this opportunity to play a team sport.
Ursie’s Animals
At Ursie’s Animals we are passionate about animal rights. We raise money for organisations such as the RSPCA and connect the girls with volunteering opportunities that allow them to learn about animal conservation and protection.
Rosies
Rosies - Friends on the Street is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, loneliness, or social isolation. Rosies’ mission is to offer friendship and unconditional acceptance to those in need. Our girls often bake food to share when volunteering too.
