St Ursula’s College has a vibrant and successful Music Department. Our team of music specialists, ensemble directors and classroom educators works tirelessly to inspire young musicians at the College. A rigorous, exciting and contemporary classroom curriculum, membership of a variety of choral and instrumental ensembles, together with exposure to a wide range of visiting performers, outside music professionals and a variety of performance opportunities, promote music in the life of each student. The College has developed an innovative and multifaceted vocal and instrumental music program that, together with the classroom music program, will support the students in its care to achieve musical success, and to nurture them through their musical journey at the College.  

Which Musical Instruments Can I Learn At St Ursula’s College? 

Brass – Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Euphonium, Tuba  

Woodwind – Piccolo, Flute, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Saxophone (Alto/ Tenor/ Baritone)  

Strings – Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass  

Percussion – Drum Kit  

Voice – Classical, Contemporary  

Piano – Classical, Contemporary, Jazz  

Guitar – Acoustic, Electric, Bass  

Instruments are available to Loan at no cost. Instrument choice is subject to availability if you wish to loan.  

IGNITE Music  

The College is pleased to support students who wish to learn an instrument or voice, or who are in the early stages of their musical journeys by offering specialist instrumental and voice lessons in groups of two.  

Students typically participate in 8 or 9 lessons each term depending on term length; invoices for lessons will be sent to parents once each term by instrumental teachers.
